Not An Illusion

Do you think world peace is an illusion?

I don’t think world peace is an illusion. Recent events have caused it to seem unimaginable, but it is not too far from our grip. If it is possible to replace hate with love just by a simple act of kindness, it is possible for the world to live in peace. The negativity and corruptness in our society is a manifestation of our inner state. We cannot achieve world peace unless we cultivate peace inside us.

The Covid-19 outbreak definitely intensified the lack of harmony and trust. It affected the economic stability of many. It is impossible to have inner peace without economic stability. Many individuals could not rely on their usual outlets, such as going to the gym or watching sports, to relieve stress either. The dreadful stress and uncertainty have caused a ridiculously rapid increase in conflicts.

The violence and negativity need to stop. It is time to regain our inner peace. I believe inner peace starts with an open mind and heart. Arguing and shaming others only prevents problems from getting solved. Although it seems difficult to be compassionate towards somebody that has opposing beliefs and customs, it is best to respect the person rather than to reject the person.

I know what you may be thinking…

They don’t like me. Why should I respect them?

The world would be less complicated if everybody could get on the same page.

Individuality makes the world so beautifully amazing. Each voice matters. Just listen to the person. There is no need for fighting. Hatred and mistrust only keep your soul trapped in its own prison. Acceptance is the key to unlock the door of unity and peace. Maybe if we focus on being actually united, other counties would probably take us more seriously.
