It comes with a numbness that is hard to understand
Triggered by anger that has morphed into hate
The rapid flow of emotions now difficult to escape

The feeling of finalization has now seeped in
Showing in multiple ways as
Things and people shift around me

Feeling trapped in a world of inconsistent promises
That bleeds inconsideration into my spaces
Filled with toxicity yet
Goodbye feels so final
But necessary for me

to breathe

A sigh of relief
In the freshness
Out some negativity

A year of newness must first start with a goodbye

Calpernia Charles

Sea breeze clears my mind as the waves washes the tension away. Belize my native land that breathes creativity and uniqueness with every ray of sunshine. Written words my way of standing up and speaking out.
