Composed Rumbles

There is a storm brewing
the air is thick with tension
as silence muffles the
disquiet of a taxed nation

a community
in waiting
like a storm brewing
on the horizon

waiting to shower
the nation with
a tempered wrath
contained for too long

the heavy rumble
of their voices
an occasional pocket
of peaceful protest

pushes against the
barriers that can
no longer hold
their pain and distress

and as the electric
streaks of lightning
accompany the sonic boom
of fully developed thunder

so will the anger
of the people
support their will
to make protest into policy
demands into actions

like the rumbles
of soft thunder
reminding us
of what is to come

they will ask
but once more
to be respectfully heard
before their entreaties

penetrate boundaries
that continues to loom
like the darkness of
a stormy firmament

that remains only so
until the next flash of
light fills the sky
until there is no more.

Sea breeze clears my mind as the waves washes the tension away. Belize my native land that breathes creativity and uniqueness with every ray of sunshine. Written words my way of standing up and speaking out.
