Sometimes just listening to the music of someone’s soul can breathe great levels of creativity. Colwin Henderson thank you for sharing your raw emotions and giving this piece life.

Imagine,
there’s still milk, juice, and snacks
for the week in 19 refrigerators
once fresh, but now soured.
There’re little pants, shirts,
undies, favorite Ts, toys, and sweaters,
cute little shoes- all no longer fit for purpose
now – only agents of pain

Imagine,
unopened backpacks
filled with stories untold
hugs, kisses, giggles
now felt from only memories unfold.
Big bold laughter will
no longer fill the rooms
raw sharp pain now plugs the wounds

like shards of glass never to be found
now part of a reality that can’t be unrung
all memories of a life
we can never get back
all of their worlds now fade to black.

Sea breeze clears my mind as the waves washes the tension away. Belize my native land that breathes creativity and uniqueness with every ray of sunshine. Written words my way of standing up and speaking out.
