My heart

completely shattered

watching you

long for her

Tears sting my eyes

as you cleverly

avoid them

fearing I may see

your truth

Sadness oozes

from your pores

letting my

broken heart know

Your thoughts

are consumed with

the loss of her

as mine are filled

with the loss of you

Battered emotions

now inert

as my eyes desperately

search yours

Am I still in there

somewhere

or are you hers

without a doubt

Sadness sits

upon my tongue

stifling my words

with hurt and doubt

Reality unveiled

a truth my soul

now struggles to

figure out

Your body is present

but your heart

is stuck

cradled silently in hers

Mask affixed

reality dismissed

while your song

rings where

your heart now belongs

Fragments of hope

caged securely inside

longing for a heart

no longer mine

Sea breeze clears my mind as the waves washes the tension away. Belize my native land that breathes creativity and uniqueness with every ray of sunshine. Written words my way of standing up and speaking out.
