Jack O’ Lanterns
Eyes bright and heart hollow
Flames seep out
Of these grinning fellows
Shadows abound outside
Ready to scare
But around the lanterns
They do not dare
For behind these fruits’
Friendly façade
Are dark souls
Spilling blood
These souls have hurt others
Murdering, or worse
And now pay the price
With an endless curse
Forever and always
They burn alive
And in turn their suffering souls
Helps the lanterns thrive
The more they wail and moan
The orange hue shines bright
And smiles steadily broaden
Within the silent night
A jack o’ lantern says hello
But also says beware
To those who don’t desire
This fate I say this,
Take care.
