Our Final Goodbye

Stormy sea

Tossing and turning
Within the stormy waves
Gasping for air

Trying to hold on
To whispered promises
We once believed in

I cry out in hopes
Someone will notice and
Pull me from the storm of despair

The waves sway me to and from
Trying to hold on to memories of us
Along the suffocating sea of sadness

I shout in the void
Hoping someone will notice and
Bring me to safety along the shore

Until I realize the only way to live
Requires letting go of the heartache
Letting go of the pain that weighed me down

Now I must say my final goodbye
To let everything of you and us
Sink into the distant past where it belongs
