There is a lot more to do than gamble in Las Vegas. The town that doesn’t sleep has been one of my favorite haunts for a while now. Each time I visit, there is more to see and do than one would think.

First, need a place to stay? Try to get into Fremont Hotel. Not only is the hotel really nice, and there is a casino and restaurant inside the hotel, it is also connected to Fremont Street. This place comes alive at night.

It is like walking down an enclosed street with the ceiling playing videos, music and splaying lights across the cover. It is really magnificent. It also has a zip tie ride!

There are casinos, bars, stores, and people wearing some really funky outfits. I haven’t attended Mardi Gras, but I can only imagine that Fremont street would be Las Vegas’ version of Mardi Gras.

What is really cool about Fremont, is that it is best seen at night. So, we explored the Las Vegas strip during the day and then explored Fremont at night. We were lucky to get to bed by 3 am.

Now, as everyone who reads my articles knows … I am an extreme paranormal buff. Of course, I had to check out the paranormal events! I am very pleased to announce that there is indeed a Haunted Vegas Tour and Ghost Hunt!

For three hours, we were driven around Las Vegas’ infamous haunts. We stopped by the famed comedian, Redd Foxx’s house, toured Bugsy Siegel’s old stomping grounds, and even visited some of Elvis Presley’s favorite “haunts”!

We were taken to Bally’s, the old MGM Grand Hotel and site of the second deadliest fire in U.S. history. We couldn’t go in, of course, but we learned the story of the hotel and the events. We did get to go into the Starz Hotel, which was the stomping grounds of some pretty serious characters.

There was a lot of history in this hotel. History tends to leave its own imprint that is different than the imprint of a spirit. You can almost see what it must have been like when the Starz was is in its prime.

There were a couple of spots in the hotel where you could also sense spirits. I think they were as curious about us as we were about them. I kept lagging behind the tour guide to try to get a better sense of who was with us.

The final leg to our tour was The Green Valley Park, located in Henderson, NV. The story was that two boys were murdered there in the 70’s, and the park has since been haunted by their spirits.

The haunted tour lasted three hours, but the Green Valley Park was the most haunted of all of the places we visited.

This orb was captured by one of the people attending the tour with us. I had gotten pictures too but didn’t keep them (Dummy Me). I am planning a trip to White Sands, NM the weekend of the 26th, and I promise to keep the pics to share.

Las Vegas is more than just a place to gamble at. It has a living vibrant history that has left its imprint on the city.

When the lights go out and the town goes silent, walk the streets and feel that history.  You’ll soon be calling Las Vegas one of your new favorite places!
