I went to a party and drank some booze.

The Halloween shindig had ghosts uttering boos.

I saw a black-haired and green-faced witch.

Man or woman, I didn’t know which.

We were deep within the woods, late at night.

I opted to dress like a badass knight.

A scary story, a creepy man read.

From his massive mouth trickled something red.

I wondered if he would collapse and die.

Then realized it was simply colored dye.

The spooky man held up a vial.

The contents inside sure looked vile.

Spiders, bugs, and worms—in total, were eight.

Into his mouth, they went; in silence, he ate.

The entire scene was quite grisly.

Then from behind, approached a grizzly.

The man dressed as a bear wielded a scull.

He smacked it upside the creepy man’s skull.

In my black boots, I tottered toward the creek.

I reached the water’s edge, then heard a creak.

The costumed beast knocked me into a daze.

I was unconscious for nearly two days.

I felt thirsty, hungry, dirty, and weak.

Perhaps it had been as long as a week.

Party attendance—no longer allowed.

I looked toward the sky and spoke it aloud.

I sighed then stood; toward a noise, I whirled.

Disturbing things exist in this world.

I hobbled away on my stiffened sole.

The chilling occurrence has scarred my soul.
