Rainy Days In Medusa’s Garden
Rainy days all look the same
When you’ve been frozen in place
A statue standing there
Medusa tending the garden
A calm day then the sky turns
The clouds gray as my skin
Medusa with her umbrella
As she fixes the cracks in me
Gentle taps upon my forearm
A bit of magic fixes them
Winter made scars she erases
Oh how cruel the gods can be
Rainy days all look the same
When you’ve been frozen in place
But in Medusa’s garden
You get to see her as she truly is
A helpless woman tending a garden?
No. She is a brave woman who was punished.
Her statues number few in the rain.
No one sees who she is.
No one talks to her. And rainy days?
Well those are just the same.
