Bottom

Go ahead and fall.
If I reach the bottom first, I’ll wait patiently for you.
Yes, we indeed keep each other company.
Sitting in the dark together is a lot less scary with you right there.
We fight, the belly of the beast ever-looming.

Still, I fear nothing.
Why?
Because we’re in this together taking on any beast.
You and I together, we’re unstoppable.
The tables turn, seasons change.

We grow stronger with each day that fades into the next.
If we end up falling,  we will get back up together stronger.
We will always build each other up.
It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it because you’re by my side.

So no matter what the bottom is or what shape the belly of the beast may take.
The bottom isn’t going to stop us from rising above it all.
God gave us the gift of endurance long before our love story began.
So, even if the bottom crumbles before we reach it, we will survive.

The world can try, but they will never be able to dim our love.
I would gladly succumb to the free-fall and not worry about whether there is a bottom waiting for us or not.
The clock in this life could run out of time, and I would not have one regret about you.

When love looks like you, I can only hope that we never reach the bottom.
