soft are the petals of the early-rising flowers
pliant as they first bloom from the ground
rain falling to bless the blooms
ice clinging to the last remnants of winter
new growth leading the way
green is the color that starts to prevail

every rosebud is a new beginning
quiet as a mouse stalking through a house
unveiling the colors that make them so grand
inching closer to the warmth
neverending in the cycle of life and death
opening wide to share with the world
xenial in its embrace
