They say that space is the final frontier, but are they right? Sure, Adventures await in the universe’s vastness, but is it worth it? Packing what little items you have into a case and stepping aboard the unyielding metal box that is the spaceship. It is knowing that no matter what, the risk you take might outweigh the joy. That you could very well die, and no one would know what happened or even remember you.

That is the risk you take, though. We always made the stakes transparent. You chose this path. Yet, a part of you questions if it’s worth it. There, in the silent vastness of the enormity of the universe. Your entire life, you remember laying on the thick grass and looking up at the night sky. Of staring at the stars and wondering what was out there. Now you have the chance to explore. To discover new words and new civilizations. It was a dream you had as a child.

Yet, there was a part of you that wondered if the risk was worth it. A mistake that cannot be corrected could mean the death of not only you but the entire crew aboard the ship. That very fact scared to you the core of your being. So you sat in your quarters, contemplating. What is going to be your next step?

Dark eyes looked around the barren walls of your room. Your thoughts were running rampant, but the words you had put down on the paper before they limited you in number. True, you had concerns. Right now, you are trying to weigh the good versus the bad and see your next steps. It was something you had always done. You were making lists, at least. So you closed your eyes and once again tried to focus. You were letting the confusion slip away and the determination to take place.
