5 Reasons To Love The 4th Of July

Independence Day is one of the best days. It’s just a big summer party to celebrate history and the beginning of our nation. But if you find yourself struggling to find the good in the 4th of July, here are some reasons to love it.

1. Food

[iframe src=”//giphy.com/embed/jKaFXbKyZFja0″ width=”480″ height=”406″ frameBorder=”0″]

It’s like having turkey on Thanksgiving; you have to barbeque. Whether it’s burgers and hot dogs, or ribs, steak, and chicken, a good barbeque is a staple on the 4th of July. Like Thanksgiving, the side choices are just as important. The fresh watermelon, grapes, strawberries, with grilled corn on the cob smothered in butter. Green salads, fruit salads, potato salad, and slaw. And really, any desert is welcome, I mean it’s desert.

2. Weather

There’s something about a summer party, and there’s something even more special about a summer party on the 4th of July. Yeah, it can be hot. Really hot. But find some shade, watch the sun go down, and the temperature with it, and enjoy those long, warm, summer nights.

3. Fireworks

Fireworks on the 4th of July is like Santa Claus on Christmas. Or love on Valentine’s Day. There would be no 4th of July without fireworks. I’m an adult and still find awe and wonderment when the fireworks show starts, and I still get emotional as the national anthem plays in the background. It’s an expression of our thankfulness for our country. Plus, they’re a lot of fun.

4. Friends and Family

[iframe src=”//giphy.com/embed/VzQ9PUdifClRm” width=”480″ height=”384″ frameBorder=”0″]

One of the most important reasons to love the 4th of July is because of the time you get to spend with friends and family. Getting to celebrate a holiday with people you choose to spend your time with is the best part. The food, weather, and fireworks are great, but being surrounded by loved ones is what makes it magical.

5. Patriotism

The final and most important reason to love the 4th of July is because it’s a day to show our love and pride for our country. Our country isn’t perfect, but no country is. However, I think our country is a pretty great place to live, and the people who make up our country are great, too. We can show our support for this great nation and be thankful for what this country means and the opportunities it provides for us.
