You walked away without pretense

I looked your way

Hesitant

You walked away without recourse

I tried to speak

With no remorse

You walked away without a sound

For that my heart

Can not rebound

You walked away, so far away

Before too long

The distance great

I will not breathe another day

Without you close

My heart will break

I will not sing another song

Without the tears

To follow on

I will not try to understand

Why you left

This shattered man

My hope is crushed

My dreams are bare

The nightmares real

Still you’re not here

This darkened silence

Cast to me

From yours is truly

Death to we

Can only wish that life will spare

This hurt I have

From ear to ear

Can only gaze upon the stars

To wonder where

O where you are…

What a lovely and lyrical piece, Ivor. Your words would make a great song.
