Sometimes, I want to be a balloon. To be as buoyant as it seems while dancing across the sky above. No anxieties about the future, and no mistakes from the past locking it in place, trapping it with chains made of utter anguish.

Balloons never have to worry about how they look, what others think of them, or if they are enough in their lifetime. They don’t even have to think about how much time is passing- they’re content with where they are now, enjoying the present moment instead of worrying about the what-ifs.

All the balloon has to do is float around until it runs out of air. A peaceful existence with no social pressure to become something great. It has nothing to prove to anyone, nor any expectations to meet. It only needs to live for itself. No judgement, no paranoia about rejection from its peers, no overthinking in any capacity. Just carefree joy.

How wonderful would it be to have a life like that. If only I could be a balloon, too.
