Tragedy of Love

In a heap of agony,
You would watch me die,
Because I believed your lies.
I cared so much.
You cared so little.
Now I’m drowning in a puddle
Of sorrow and betrayal.
You told me we would be forever.
But for you,
It actually meant never.
I’m lying in a pool of despair,
Because you never did care.
For you, I would have left the world behind.
Yet your heart was far from mine.
This love has been a tragedy
Of wasted tears and travesties.
I would not dare to love again-
To be fooled twice
Would be a sin.
