Why must we behave like starving, hollow children? Always desiring more when our bellies are full. We glance at one another on this earth, allowing ourselves to act like Cain and Abel.
“This is not fair!” a fellow soul cries out, as the individual takes their well-earned reward. Treasure that fills the other with envy and greed, instead of praise and content. Oh, how nothing is fair.
“Why are they getting more than me?” another exclaims in astonishment, focusing on what they have more than on how they can better themselves. Do they never realize that hard work brings proper reward? Nothing is ever equal in the game of life.
When will we learn to trust our Creator as we seek our daily bread? When will we understand to stay away from forbidden fruit and not rob ourselves of joy? For it is as much a sin as not being thankful for what we have, allowing sloth to become our God. We are called for a life bigger than ours, lived by example.
