The Ending Is The Most Important

I have found myself thinking about the way things end. The ending of a television show can affect the entire journey for viewers. I mean look at the Game of Thrones television show. This would be the perfect time to rewatch the show, but the finale was met with such anger that fans refuse to even discuss the last season.  They went on this emotional journey for eight seasons, and literal years only to have the ending disappoint them.

I have stopped reading or delayed watching the next season of numerous books and tv shows because I was angry about the way it ended. The sad thing is endings don’t just happen in our heads, or on tv. My roommate and I have recently started the show MasterChef. We love cooking shows, and Gordon Ramsey is an iconic chef. We finished a season this past weekend and loved both of the finalists so we decided to look them up to see what they were doing now. We found out that one of them passed away shortly after they were on the show.

The whole day I was crying on and off about the loss of a person I didn’t even know. It had been years since the season aired on television. My roommate and I didn’t start the next season until Monday because we were sad. Then I thought about all of the people I had lost through death or just the natural breakdown of a friendship. Do you ever remember the first thing you said? Not always, but whenever I miss someone I always remember the last thing I said to them. Sometimes if I’m lucky enough to still have them on social media, or on my phone I will read the messages. Depending on how things ended I may send them a message, but most of the time I just look through the messages to remind myself that while the friendship is over. I will always have our memories.

You never know when the ending to your story might come so always make sure to not spoil the ending. It can change everything.
