A Beautiful Enigma

Who do you
Think of me
Take me for
Truly see me?

Am I a pawn
Part of the game
All being fair
In the name of love?

Am I a mere
Casualty
Political gain
War and ideals?

Womanhood
Deeply desired
Strived for
By boys

Wanting to shed
Their skin
Casting aside
Ideals of men

As if chivalry
A true gentleman
Eradicated
As it must be

The only way
If one should
Survive in
Our world

Yet in your
Loving gaze
Warm touch
In your arms

I am desired
Truly treasured
I belong
To you

I am not
Simply a
Woman
To you

I am your
Woman
Your north
Star
