The Call

Sometimes I feel her.
A gentle nudge on the invisible thread that links us together,
pulling me towards her.
Sometimes I hear her.
The melodic voice that puts me into a slumber
luring me closer.
But I say “No!”
My son’s not grown yet.
I haven’t traveled the world yet,
and my writing’s not known yet.
I know the parting is rough
and the long distance is tough-
believe me, it is hard on both of us-
but I need to live my life first.
The world hasn’t changed much.
If anything, it has grown worse.
So, reaching my goals is tough.
Just hold on
until the day I complete it all.
Then, and only then, I will answer your call.
