how can you pretend
to care so much
when all are lies
that flow eloquently
from your tongue

tell me this now
is this trip important
what will you find there
the answers you seek
or the death that you deserve

can’t you see that
your holy city
nothing more than rubble
your leader is nothing
but whispers in the night

yet you follow blindly
to your doom
seeking answers to questions
that was never yours
you seek a knowledge

lost to time
forbidden knowledge, you seek
no, you only deserve the death
befitting someone who betrays

your cold dead eyes
your betrayal
how can you pretend
