My heart thudded as I tried to comprehend what my eyes were seeing. The mirror showed a live image of Calvin and me taking an evening stroll on the beach. The sun was setting slowly. I gasped at the sight of my physique. My stomach was as big as a pumpkin. Calvin flashed a big smile as he gently touched my bump.

“This can’t be me.” I blinked my eyes several times in disbelief. “There is no possible way.”

I gripped the mirror handle so hard that my fingers tingled. I discovered I cannot have children of my own two years ago.

“You said you could only show me possibilities of my future… I was hoping to see more realistic ones.”

“What you see is what could be if you face your reality now.” A calm voice answered.

I tossed the mirror and threw my hands up in the air in deep frustration.

“Oh right, because false hope fixes everything.” I laughed. “I’m done with this lame, mystical bullshit. For all I know, this could be the beginning of my psychotic break.”

I was about to throw the stupid mirror out of the window when the voice responded loudly.

“Keep watching… He won’t stop until you believe…”

“Who? Lucifer?”

“See for yourself.”

I groaned and watched the image fade into another. All I could see at first was memorizing sunlight peeking through big fluffy clouds. The clouds then separated and there was Ian. He was holding a beautiful baby girl. He kissed her tiny forehead.

“Our favorite sunflower might be weak now. You, my dear, are the soil that will make her come back to life.” He smiled. “Give her my best.”

I stood there breathless while the image disappeared.
