I am trapped in this mind.

I am at war.

Pushing against every thought-

my only weapon my pen.

I am at war,

locked in battle with myself.

My only weapon my pen,

the victory my story.

I am locked in battle with myself,

and it is so hard to win.

But this victory is my story-

my scars are my lost words.

It is so hard to win

when I can’t get the words out.

My scars are my lost words-

proof of the war that I am in.

When I can’t get the words out

and am pushing against every thought,

it is proof of the war that I am in.

I am trapped in this mind.
