Here at the podium

strength of my life

Time to now speak

Settle for this

Momentum is mine

I pray for the weak

Leave hope in the past

Eternal I wish

With death now surrounding

every small step

every last word

every last breath

Here at the podium

I speak my last peace

Pay homage to life

say sorry enough

I burned many bridges

lashed out with anger

Held in contempt

a story of must

Must feed a strong family

must earn my own place

must fight everyday

this life of decay

I suffer in silence

like many before

I lust a new change

my heart is unsure

Here at the podium

tears to my eye

I’ve lost my last battle

no words to deny
