My Fairytale Dreams (A Poem)

My fairytale dreams
I closed my eyes
And dream
Of a time of Lords and Ladies
Knights that fought for honor

In my dream I see
A castle upon the hill
Surrounded by peril
Fire breathing dragon
Within is a Princess
Beautiful of fire lock and emerald orb
Trapped
Until one day on the back
Of a great white steed
Her Prince Charming comes
To save her
The clash of metal
Scream of defeat

In my dream I see
The Price save his Princess
Climbing the tower
To take her into his arms
Lavish kisses
Breathtaking soul to keep
All her life she waited
For this day
Her savior
Her love
Her Prince

In my dream I see
Them riding off into the sunset
Living happily ever after
The backdrop falls
And I awaken
Shivering with cold
Soaked with tears
A sigh to turn away my head
Closing my eyes again
So…

In my dream I see
My fairytale dreams
