The School of Life
Where are the souls that courageously yearn
To make the most out of this diverse life
Full of love and beauty, envy and strife
And find power in the lessons we learn
Sometimes too tangled for us to discern
Which of those feelings could cut like a knife
When played like the notes on Fate’s silver fife
While we seek to spread our knowledge in turn
But life is often the cruelest of schools
Teaching us lessons we never should know
Spinning us into emotional spools
Before surprising us with a strong blow
And though we often resemble the fools
We’ll look through the storm and seek the rainbow
