Trying Times

To prosper is to live with peace

In wealth or health or simply being

With trying times and tribulations

We’ve lost our faith in our foundations

A seed of fear breeds suspicion

And too much freedom breeds disillusion

We think it’s time that holds us back

When really it’s discipline that we lack

Questions float into one’s mind:

What to do with so much time?

What really matters at the end of the day?

Can I claim I’m truly okay?

Here we sit behind locked doors

Agitated and waiting for our next orders

But we don’t have to wait in fear

We can still make this our year

A year of survival, a year to behold

A year of adaptation, a year to be bold
