Lucas Meets Ana

“Lucy, what if she wants to kiss me?” Dai asked me, nervously wringing his sun-kissed hands, and dancing around like a toddler doing the potty dance. I looked at my friend as I raised a strawberry blonde eyebrow. His light brown hair looked like a squished porcupine on his head.

“Dai I think-Did Dria roll you out of bed, or something?” I asked, looking him over, taking note of his rumpled sapphire silk pajama pants, and he was not wearing a shirt, so I could see his lean but muscular build that probably made every fourteen-year-old girl in the kingdom scream so loud that I was surprised the human voice could reach that volume without permanent damage.

“Ana’s coming today. Mom wanted me to be here to welcome her,” Dai said as he walked over to a silver throne with a crescent moon that had a shooting star coming out of the top, and a sapphire fabric covering the interior of the throne. Wait did he say Ana was coming today? Why would Ana KISS him?

“Wait, a girl is coming, and you are dressed like that?” I asked seriously, I mean he looked like he just came in from a party. Ana might think he is some kind of ladies man or something

“Lucy, it’s just Ana,” he said as he put his hands behind his head as he leaned back on his throne.

“If it’s just Ana, why would she kiss you?” I asked calmly. I mean it is not as if Ana would tackle him, and attack his face with her mouth in the middle of the throne room. She is a princess. She would not be so open with her affections. Dria and Max certainly are not. They are the pictures of royal decorum in public. Their niece is probably the same. She is probably not even pretty, that is probably why Dai is freaking out about the possibility of a kiss from the princess. Well, I guess that is the downside of being royal; sometimes you just have to take one for the good of the entire kingdom.

“Well mom thought Ana and I should start dating. The press will probably expect something of the sort from us.” Dai said, and brought me back to reality, as he rubbed the back of his head, which squished the porcupine that was his hair.

I heard the doors open, I turned toward the doors expecting to see one of the palace guards. Instead, I saw a golden ball gown that sparkled like the stars. The young girl wearing the ball gown was short with long brown hair reaching halfway down her back held in place by a simple silver tiara with vines reaching for the amethyst crescent embedded in the center. She came toward us, her dress floating behind her, closely fitted her body that accentuated her lean and curvy build, her warm brown eyes looking at us with a warm smile that seems to light up her entire face. She looked like a shooting star that had landed in the throne room.

“She was supposed to be ugly,” I whispered to Dai who was smiling like a kid who just opened the Christmas present that he had wanted all year.

“What are you talking about?” Dai asked furrowing his eyebrows as the princess drew closer.

“She wouldn’t be horrible to kiss,” I whispered, as I met the princess halfway, and wrapped my arms around her waist. I am probably going to be shot, but it will be worth it. She parted her lips as if she was going to say something when I dipped her slightly and brought my lips to hers gently. She stood frozen at first then she relaxed, and kissed me back the same way. Then her hands traveled up and played in my hair. I kissed her more deeply, and she moved her hands down my back.

So much for royal decorum, but I think I like this better. I thought to myself as she was still kissing me, but her hands had made their way down to the back of my jeans. She grabbed the waistband of my boxer shorts.
SNAP. The sound echoed in the large room, and I dropped the woman gently as the sting vibrated through my back as I walked back to Dai who looked shocked.

“You just kissed my girlfriend,” he said wringing his hand through his hair.

“She’s not your girlfriend yet, and I hope you were taking notes,” I said smiling wryly. I am going to like having this girl around. I watched as Dai started squirming in his chair like a toddler doing a potty dance again as the princess kissed his cheek.
